I don't use the 70-200 f4 much for birds...just not enough reach on the A7R3. On the A6400 reaches the equivalent of 300mm.
This crop camera doesn't have the image quality of the FF but its not far behind. Although the focus is better so its easier to capture birds.
The combo is much lighter than the 7R3 and 100-400 that I normally use...even though I mostly carry it from the house to different points on the deck.
