WOW that's huge! Oh, wait. This is the critique section. Have to say more than that. I think the use of contrast is very well done here. The shadows are dark without losing detail and the light is bright - again without losing detail. Your perspective brings out the size of the dune nicely.

Don,
I very much admire the care taken with timing of the exposure to capture the glancing illumination of the
shaded, fluted surface not quite in full shadow!
A wonderful image, for that!
Way to go, Don!

The stability (or lack thereof) of the sand is determined by the principle of “angle of repose”.

I love the way you framed this. Nice shadow and light on the right. I can't see the gritty detail of the sand on the left, but that may be because of UHH. I also like the way the interesting trees stand out against their well lit background. Very nice, Don.
