This will make you smile, I think. I was about 9 or10, I went to Dancing classes and did Tap and Ballet dancing also acrobatics. The costume was my stage costume, it was blue velvet, trimmed gold tinsel material. Each year, our dancing school did a Pantomime at the local city Empire Theatre. This particular year I was the front end of a cow. I also did an acrobatic duet with my late sister, Irene. God Rest Her Soul.... I hope these pictures make you smile, this Tuesday morning..........

Cheers and Beers

I’d be happy to tie my shoes without reaching for the Ibuprofen!

yeah, it would be great. About the most I can do is touch my navel....let alone bend over and touch my toes. as for shoes, LOL, I don't use shoe laces any more. I beat the odds, I wear loafers.

I tie the laces loose enough that the shoes are essentially loafers.

I’ve never been flexible. Now, too many limitations.

This was in the late 40's, I could have been the original boy named Sue, instead of calling me Sue they took me to a Ballet and Tap-dancing school. and called me Graham...................

Uh oh. I feel a muscle spasm coming on. It feel like I'm holding my camera upside down and "trying" to press the shutter with my left thumb. This is gonna hurt!

This is my sister and my self, many, many years ago, my acrobatic partner We were on holiday in one of Englands most famous Holiday Resorts, Blackpool. Our parents entered us into a Talent Show in one of the Theatres on a Pier, we won the preliminary heat and had to go back for the final on the last day of our holiday. We won the final and the photographs shows all the prizes that we won in the final. The white cable that you see was a tortoise with a handle that when squeezed, the tortoise walked. For Brits on here the Show was called the Peter Webster Show. Those were the days..............The photograph was taken outside the holiday lodging house where we regularly stayed, the owners were also coal merchants as you can see on the sign on the wall behind us.
Memories come flooding back, don't they, from old photographs like this one..........

I reach down to tie mine and by the time I've got there I've forgotten what I reached down for!

Grahame, You appear to have had a wonderful childhood, with doting parents. Lucky you!

Wow, the only way my feet could ever touch my head would be if the feet were cut off and worn like a hat.

I was raised on Tyneside, in the 50s and 60s, and got enough stick for playing in an orchestra. I wouldn't have had the guts (or the aptitude!) to take dance lessons... This is a photo of me and my older brother at an airshow in 1960, at RAF Middleton-St-George, now Teeside Airport.
