Rob, I am sorry you took the comments on the car’s pedigree as “flack” - I am one of the obsessive compulsive ones. I did say that it was a nice shot, and I ask you to understand that “car guys” are by their nature obsessive compulsive about details. You’ll notice that with all other antiques except vehicles, the worst thing you can do is refinish them and remove the patina - it kills their value. But vehicles (and I include cars, motorcycles and boats) are most valuable when restored in every detail to as new, hence our obsession with every detail, down to the serial numbers of the engine and transmission matching. So I hope you were not offended and take the discussion of the car’s provenance as genuine interest which in no way diminishes your fine photograph. I appreciate you posting it, and if my comments have offended you, You have my sincere apology.

No, Chris, you are not one that I was referring to. A lot of comments, not just with this post, are people who just like to pontificate, but I didn't believe that was your case. This reply post proves my point; no need to apologize. I was unable to find a photo of the genuine article, and you mentioned you had one. Post that if you would, and thank you for just being a nice person.
