Yeah, I’ve never seen a new camera come with an SD card already installed.

If the card was already in the camera then you either got a returned camera or someone in the store opened the box and played with it. Cameras don't come with a card, so maybe the store included a somewhat used card with your purchase.

I bought it from B and H photo so I know they are a reputable outfit. I can't imagine getting a used camera that was advertised as new. It looked brand new.
Call B&H, ask for customer service, explain what has happened and ask for their help in figuring it out.
Could you have hit the shutter button without realizing it? How about the background? Does that look familiar? If this is in sequence with your other shots, then you probably took it.
Check the numbering and the day and time the picture was taken., and see how it fits in with the others.

I was so freaked out that I immediately deleted it. Probably should have kept it for evidence if need be.
Try to get it back.
This reminds me of TV shows where people receive threatening letters, and they destroy them - no way for the police to find evidence.

I have been known to hold my camera by my side and accidentally press the release.
Right! And Auto focus will give a good result.

I see a possible movie deal in this for you!
Yes, directed by M. Night Shyamalan.
It could have been worse. What if you had to explain a photo of a nude woman to your wife.
This could be a Made-for-TV mystery novel.........or a soap-opera. The fact that it came to you with a card installed would indicate a used & returned item. Warehouse personnel that restock shelves sometimes do so incorrectly and enter the inventory data as new in error and the sales clerks are totally unaware of the mistake until you return it and with serial bar code scanning...I find the excuse for this somewhat fuzzy because serial numbers don't lie....people do.
Thanks for you inquiry and is your camera okay....otherwise?
Good luck guy
It is indeed a ghost. Call Ghost Adventures.
Every year they have a film festival in the summer eve at Hollywood Forever Cemetery. People capture orbs and other strange phenomena on their cameras.
😳😃
Maybe your camera is haunted.

Maybe someone borrowed the camera?
I format it every time I upload pics to my computer.
Thanks to everyone for their replies. Some were quite humorous. I have come to realize that most of UHH members are helpful, intelligent people. I feel rather stupid for thinking that the sd card in question came with my camera...it did not.
Anyway I will continue to read UHH daily as I have learned a lot through the years and had some fun in the process. Keep up the good work Hoggers!
P.S. I will keep you posted if I encounter any more "ghosts" in my machine.
