After leaving my wife off at Midway Airport, I drove to suburban Blue Island. I had last been there in 1975, when that had been the hub of commuter activity for the Rock Island Railroad. Since then, the Rock Island has gone out of business and Metra completely took over the Rock Island's commuter business. Other than looking better cared for {and painted in less garish colors} it turns out that very little has actually happened in almost half a century.
1975 - Rock Island red/yellow : taken from SW
2019 - fortunately not Metra blue : taken from SE

I like the 2019 paint job better, but how about the cars on the left and right edges? They don't make them like that any more!
