This was taken from the I-195 flyover bridge Saturday night. For this 6 image composite I used my Nikon D800 and 70-200mm lens in vertical position with and ISO of 100, aperture of f18 and a shutter of 30 seconds. The image was processed in Lightroom and then edited in Lightroom as well. I checked the history panel when I finished and noted there were 47 separate edits including the use of GND filter, radial filter and the adjustment brush. I spent nearly an hour processing this image.

Please view this in download format the thumb nail shown here is just too small. Thanks for looking.

Thanks for commenting. If you walk the streets in what is called Bayfront there are lots of neon colors on the buildings. Note the Purple you can see on building and the bridge. The city is referred to as the Magic City so I wanted to preserve these tones in my portrayal of the city. Thus the emphasis on the colors in the water which actually impacted the camera settings when I took the photo.

Thank you so much. To get the look I wanted there were a great many editing choices. I went back and forth for several days. But I like the results.

Given the camera settings, I presume you wanted blurred effect of the water. As a result, the buildings are blurred too. This is probably due to the inherent decreased sharpness of the small aperture and long exposure. I do not know what tripod you used but that may have also added just enough movement to contribute to blurring too. I prefer sharp buildings to blurred water since I think the buildings are the main subject, not the water.

The framing of the scene is good, in part, due to using the camera in vertical.

The blur may be due to the vibration of the bridge caused by 18 wheeler truck rumbling by
