I wanted to get BB at speed without people everywhere...I found a place to do that...the only mistake I made was too high a shutter speed...what I used froze the wheels in place. For whatever reason Ed would not stop backup and run past me again, so I'm just going to have to live with this mistake.

Or...I could cheat and fake it...(first photo)

The location is just West of Pine Bluffs just before he started slowing down for the stop there.

Cool photos of a really cool locomotive. The only Big Boy I've ever seen in person is the one at Steamtown USA in Scranton PA and it is inoperable and will most likely never be restored to operational condition.

Great shots, nice open country.
I can't complain about shutter speed. Fast or slow, you have a great picture.

Fred, Wonderful image! One of the best I've seen of the 4014. Excellent colors and exposure. AND it is taken near one of my many stops in life. An area I look back to fondly. Thank you for posting this.

PS: for me at least, that picture has a feeling of motion even though you did stop the action of the drivers. Did you pan this a bit?

There is decent wheel blur in the first image with dbl download. Great captures either way.
