Hi, I'm looking to find a really good Slideshow maker and DVD burner for my trip photos.
I've used Iphoto and IDVD in the past and liked them but alas IDVD is kaput.
Right now I'm creating the slide show in Photos and then burning it using MiDVD (from the ap store).
But I am not happy at all with the way the playback from the DVD looks on an HD TV.
Is there something out there that burns the DVD at better playback for TV?
All suggestions welcome.
Thanks
Brian.

I am at work. When I get home I will look for your posting. I have a wonderful program for that. I fact I was working with it al the weekend for a celebration of event for a friend that passed. 290 photos 6 songs 23 mins long. Everyone was very pleased with the outcome. but for the life of me I cannot remember the name of the program. I will send it to you this evening. they have a free trial period also...

Since you use a mac you might want to look at FotoMagico. You can buy it on the app store. It's an application that will let you do just about anything you want with your images. There are also many other options available on the app store.

This looks really interesting. On paper it looks like an outstanding replacement for Slideshow Gold or Pro. Especially if the rumors are true of them going out of business.

I'm using PhotoStage Slideshow Producer Free on my iMac. It's intuitive to use, it's very easy to add captions and music as well as adjusting transitions, slide time, etc. If you want to pay a few bucks you can get the improved version but I can't imagine what it could offer that the free version doesn't have. Its also completely compatible with Apple's Photos where you can just click and drag a photo or multiple photos into the slideshow you're making. Get it free from the App Store.

Whoops - sorry. I now realize you have a Mac. The software I recommended only runs on Windows.

Go to photodex.com and check out their Pro Show program. Lots of samples and tutorials and free trial offer. I don’t burn to DVD's. It’s easier to just put the show on a USB drive and plug it into your TV.

In photos on imac go to file create there you will see book, calendar, card, slideshow and prints. I’ve always used slideshow then I exported it out as a movie file. Then I would use iDVD or Toast make make a dvd with the slideshow I created in photos.
Photos has a lot of different effects for your slideshow and you and add music to it. I think it works really well,
