I know I'll anger a bunch of people with this little factoid but if you do just a little research you'll find that the decline in the United States and the destruction of its middle class began with Ronald Reagan and his voodoo economics. Trump is like the final stages of cancer. He didn't start the rot but he's the one that's supporting it and he's the one that wants to k**l democracy in favor of autocracy.

That’s moronic. Seriously, do you even understand economics and banking????

Do you even know what autocracy means? If you do, please give examples of how Trump is k*****g democracy for autocracy (and please....no moronic posts about words!)

McCain was ridiculed by who? He’s not a war hero,” “He was a war hero because he was captured. I like people who weren’t captured.” Wonder where these phrases come from.

He was ridiculed for years by the f*****t progressive left.

Blurry,

Let’s be clear..... it was JFK, not LBJ, that got us into Vietnam as it was JFK who gave the okay for the assassination of Ngo Dinh Diem.

Further, like most wars VN was religious....the French contacted JFK and let him know that they were bailing out and that NVM and the c****es would liquidate the Christians in the south.

I am not sure that I know the history of the war, I thought that JFK had only limited advisors and CIA in there and that it was Johnson who escalated with troops in 1965, like I said without researching the war I am uncertain, I was just a kid back then, I was only 9 years old in 1965.

But ... I already knew that.

Read a book.

On recent visits to Nam I openly asked those that spoke with me how they felt about the US withdrawal, both North and South most responded with a wish that we had stayed the course. In the North some said it was only a few weeks away from North Vietnam's surrender. Had we won the war, Vietnam like Japan, and North Korea would be far better off economically. Why we were there becomes unimportant in the big picture, once we commit we must stay the course.

I think the slogan “Make America Great Again” is apropos and does NOT refer to a single time in history but to the different people and attitudes in history that contributed to America’s status as the best place to be in the world.

Examples include the founders risking EVERYTHING to start a revolution and break away from England, industrialists and workers who committed to connecting the country via railroads, individuals who carved a single country out of many pieces via both politics (Loooziana purchase) and war (Alamo), individuals willing to risk it all again to correct historical wrongs (republicans putting an end to s***ery AND pushing through the civil rights act), farmers and ranchers moving westward to creating food out of thin air for the world.......I think you get the point.

Those who insist it’s about a single time are nothing more than opportunist r****ts, and almost exclusively democrats.

It was actually Truman and then Eisenhower that we can thank for our initial involvement in VN. The French were, most likely, completely out of VN by the time Kennedy took office. I believe it was a battle at Dien Bien Phu where the French had there asses handed to them by the Viet Minh. Things escalated a bit with Kennedy.
