OK, I pulled my head out of the book I am reading in my current reading obsession long enough to take a few bird pics. Through the not very clean double pane sliding door so I don't have to go out in the heat or lose the cool air my AC has worked so hard to fill the family room with.
Black Phoebe perching on various things around the pool and then skimming the water snatching up drowning bugs. These two decent shots happened to be on the same spot.
#1 80D, Tamron 150-600 G2 @ 600, 1/800 @ f/16, ISO 5000
Using a tripod at about 50' Yes the noise is pretty bad
But I felt I needed to post something it has been so long. Because of the bits of brown I think this is the juvenile I photoed over a month ago.
#2 all the same but 1/640 @ f/8.0, ISO 1600
noise isn't nearly as bad.
Pretty shots of yet another bird we don't have here, Jerry. Definitely a youngster. I love his feather fluff.

Thank you.
Yes, they are Oregon coast to Mexico, Central America and NW So. America birds. They do reach east to New Mexico and central Texas and almost to the Gulf coast of Mexico.

Thanks, they hang around water and hunt insects in short rapid flights. They build their nests out of mud in a cup shape in protected nooks.
