I just got into a discussion on the Facebook ON1 site about printing large prints after being resized. One guy was a huge proponent of the Alien Skin Blowup. Ive use on1 Resize in the past with very good results. It seems they both use the same algorythms to process the images. Any thoughts pro or con?

Huh! Alien skin. X-File Raw-File?
I have no idea. And I use Ps and have little problems with remnants if that is what you are talking about. I process my camera RAW files to sufficiently large archived PSD or TIFF files; 300ppi, 16-bit, sRGB, say about 10x15" so I have plenty to work from if I want to change size / crop into JPEGs. If I want to get crazy I can go 32-bit, 600ppi, 24x36 inch, but those are huge files and I only bother with larger than 300ppi, 10x15" if I am actually printer that large or larger. Then I rework an image from Raw likely anyway.
I used On1 Resize for years starting when it was called Genuine Fractals, and always felt it did a good job. However, if you're looking for the best resizing software check out Topaz AI Gigapixel. At ~$100 it's not cheap, but the output is amazing. Here's a link to an earlier UHH post of mine on this topic:

They use different algorythms, but the results of the two are comparable!
