I read all about it and it sounds terrific, but a great new camera on its own is no guaranty of great photos. Good photographers will still be able capture wonderful images with older, lower resolution cameras. And photography wannabes will continue to take the same mediocre snaps, only at a higher resolution. Now, if this camera is in the hands of someone who understands how to get the best from it, well, that's another thing. But, it's not for me. I'm avoiding G.A.S., preferring to concentrate on composition and learning how to use light better.

I think we heard that previously. Check the date and time stamp on these topics.

Nikon is rumored to have a 60mp in the works. Could be the same sensor.
At this point I feel that high MP cameras are more about bragging rights for the manufacturer than anything tangible for for Joe "Camera" Six Pack.

Someone says that every time there is an uptick in sensor resolution. And Joe "Camera" Six Pack doesn't sound like a candidate for a high resolution camera anyway. I remember when anything over 10 -12 mp was considered overkill. Do you want to go back?

That alone is justification for a 61mp sensor.

And I just succumbed to GAS and bought a 100-400 GM lens. Now I know I will need a new camera to go with it. Someday, Sony can just come to my house to see every camera and lens they ever made in my war chest of photo equipment! NOT...

Joe "Camera" Six Pack is however the the major buyer and that was my point.

If it wasn't for Joe "Camera" Six Pack generating sales volume, none of this very fancy and usually under utilized gear would be remotely affordable!

We can look down out noses at downsized cats on Facebook, but that's what allows it to work for everyone.
