Please don't.
They value men's fallible ideas over God's infallible word when it comes to Creation.
Is that important? Can't christians differ on how God started everything?
Sure, they do, but the issue isn't one of differing interpretations of the text, the issue is one of authority...One view takes the text as written and believes it, the other goes outside the text and gathers current ideas and attempts to support them with scripture.
You cannot get the big bang and anything other than the actual, 6 24 hour day creation from the text itself. If you do try and mix long ages and or what ever other sort of evolutionary idea with the text, you are starting OUTSIDE the text itself and looking for ways to shore up what you believe...not believing the text itself.
Rather, go to
http://www.answersingenesis.org for LOTS of good information about creation from a God honoring perspective.

I remember reading some years back the J Vernon McGee believed the gap theory might be possible. Also read he was undecided about it. Said it was something he just wasn't going to be dogmatic about.
Now I like McGee and agree to disagree on this point. Bible says 6 literal days. BTW answersingenesis is a cool place.
Simply amazing. All powerful, is our God
