Ever been between a ROCK and a hard place. Well if you have this challenge is for you. Some people collected rocks from their travels, like my Mother-in-law, to place in their landscape at home. Don’t tell anyone but she even had a few collected from the sanctity of some of our National Parks……shhhhhh!
I’ve always been enamored with the rocks in our world. May be why I ended up engineering with them in precast concrete as my close out career. All those rocks that went into a concrete mix were pretty small, but in my youth I was always blown away with really big rocks especially when we visited Colorado on vacations. You could climb on some, run around some, hide among others, and just view in awe the really big ones.
I know you got’em, and I really like’em, so come on and share them with me.
I’m not like my mother-in-lawn. The rocks I collect from places we’ve been are small so I can put them in a glass container…. Ok there are a few small pieces drift wood found on a secluded beach in the jar too …

….and I know, but there wasn’t any rocks in that cotton field in North Carolina so I snitched a cotton boll to add to the collection.

At least one in the container is from agate beach on the North Central California coast where all these shiny wet pebbles showed some sparkle here and there.

Very nice Chase, we were by there a lot of years ago when the kids were quite young. I'd have to dig out some old photo or slides to find my shots of Morro Rock, but I've got some somewhere.

Love them all katspangle. Good work on the Chaco Canyon shot and the last one has very interesting striations.

Among the rocks you find surprises sometimes.

Like a few UHH friends you just met in Portland coming out of the fog among the granite bolders atop Cadilac Mountain in Acadia NP.

Great start, Larry, and thank you for hosting.

I know I have rocks in my head, but I couldn't find the x-ray, so
I'll just start out with some interesting rocks and rock structures
we came across on our very first trip to Aruba.

Pg 1 - Love both of these shots, Larry. It had to be fun to be able
to meet and spend time with all those wonderful people from UHH,
and that second image is a keepsake!

Good ones Tim. Like them all...The natural bridge our land excursion took there had collapsed, so no longer bridging anything.
