That's an awful lot of trouble (and expense, assuming you bought the T7i just to transfer files) for vacation pictures. My reaction would have been, "oh well, only two days of pictures from this vacation... better luck next time."

Chances are a new folder was created. If you put the card in a computer you should see the second folder. There should also be a menu item on your camera that allows you to select a folder.

On Nikon it is in the Playback Menu and called Playback folder. On Canon it should be similar.

Use the USB cable to connect the camera directly to your computer. Also, the Cannon Connect app may work using WI-FI.

I understood it as he purchased a replacement camera, and now has images from the first camera AND the second camera on the same card, and cant see the images from the new camera.

What software are you using, is it up to date?
The T7i is a newer generation than the 70D and their files are not the same version. You may need newer software or an update to see those newer files.

That's been my experience. When I'm shooting things around the house, I pick up a card and put it into the camera - Sony WX9, a6000, Nikon D750, D5300, Canon SD80. Each camera makes it's own folder, and they are all available on my computer. I've even used cards from still cameras in camcorders. It's like writing on a piece of paper. The paper doesn't care if you use a pen, pencil, or crayon.

How are you trying to download?
Windows explorer or an editing program?
Are the new files there as .CR3 files?
Can Windows see them?
Does your editor know about the new Canon .CR3 format?
Like others have said, are they in a different directory?

(Just "can't see/can't download" is really ambiguous.)

The T7i does not use .cr3 files. it uses .cr2

Generally putting a card from 1 camera to another requires reformatting.
Not always.
Mine you do.
But don't do it as you will lose 2 days.
Best find an expert in this and have them download to the computer from the card and you will see all.

That's a start, how about the other questions?

-How are you trying to download?
-Windows explorer or an editing program?
-Can Windows see them?
-Like others have said, are they in a different directory?

Depending on what software you’re using, you may need to update it to recognize the camera files which cannot be recognized by the older version of the software. (This would most likely be the case with Lightroom for instance)
