The moose get my vote.

I would enter the Osprey (#2) and see if there is a General or Misc Category and enter #4 in that category.

I agree with most - the osprey., However unlike most, I agree with cascoly, don't crop. The way that the wings are flared and the direction that the bird is looking demand some space on the right.

Great photo!

Our county fair allows only one entry per category. I have several in mind for the "Wildlife" category, and don't know which to choose. What would you choose?

Thanks!

Osprey pic looks great! That's the one to submit.

I would vote for #2. It struck me as something I would very much liked to have seen myself. Good luck in the fair.

I would go for #2 without any cropping. I would add a small highlight to the eye in the sunlight to see if it adds anything (if this is permitted under the competition rules).

Raptor with fish.

If noise doesnt become a problem, I'd see about lightening the shadow on top of its left wing and left side of its face... just enough to reveal a little more detail there.

Having said all that, I reckon it's good anyway.

I like all four. But my two faves are the Eagle and the Moose. I like the Osprey frame also, but if you do choose that one, it's my opinion to NOT crop it to center. While the light is beautiful in the Osprey shot, I really dig the framing of the Eagle in the pine, and the face is super clear and crisp. All the best to you!

Osprey, but clone out that white spot in the upper lefthand quadrant.

All are nice, but I agree with the majority here - the osprey image is the one to enter.

Another vote for the second one. The fish illustrates the life cycle, which I think adds meaning to what would otherwise still be a great photo.

I like 3. In its own natural habitat. The story fills the frame. Perhaps a bit off the right edge but not much. Keep the balance as you have it. All great shots.

Totally disagree with the popular vote, especially #2 of an Osprey that has chewed the head off of a mostly hidden fish. It is not a good capture of this majestic raptor. The Eagle however even though it's partially blocked by the pine limbs is in it's classic pose (wings spread) and is pretty sharp and the pine tree even adds to the natural setting.
(the osprey is sitting on a man made object and certainly does not depict "Wildlife".
