I took these Photos of the Trona Railway back in February 2014. The Trona Railway (reporting mark TRC) is a 30.5 mi (49.1 km) short-line railroad owned by Searles Valley Minerals. The train ends at Hwy I-395, where the salts are transferred to trucks. I hear that the tracks were damaged by displacement on July 5, 2019 during the M7.1 Earthquake in the Ridgecrest / Searles Valley / Trona California area. This is from when the railroad was operating fine. Enjoy. Please comment. This is my first posting in the UHH section. I did not know it existed until today.

Very good images. We also have a section on this forum dedicated to trains if that is one of your interests. Welcome!
Thanks for looking and commenting. I think I mis-typed, "This is my first posting in the UHH section." It should have read "This is my first posting in this UUH section." I have been a member of the UHH for many years but due to someone else's post I just learned there was a Trail Road and Train specialty section.
Sorry but the engineer sits on the right side of the train. This is a throwback from the Brits when they started using trains. BTW, looks like an old SP unit, maybe a SD45 by the looks of the cab. RFB

Might there have been an engineer on the other side and I did not notice? This engine can not be ancient, it is desiel. Though, Trona would not have the world's most up to date anything. It is really isolated out in the desert. I like rail road tracks and trains, that does not make me an expert.
