If it is right for you, the Z series bodies and lenses will be more of a force to be reckoned with in the future. What is more impressive is that the 24-70 f/4 outperforms the non-Z mount cousin. This is great news for those of us who do not 'need' to have the 'best'-- at a price of course. In the past, there was nothing comparable to the top 24-70 f/2.8s to use with our DSLRs. We needed to pay the price.

Nikon Z sales are not strong. I believe Sony and Canon are.

Nothing is wrong with Nikon sales--trend of industry. New model will take off. Your analogy would best be served as Tesla sales are strong..Bentley are not. Or, Tesla is eating the EV market up. Ford and GM beware.
