Denmark taking a stand

Denmark is one more country that is getting fed up with immigrants that want to live there but don't necessarily want to assimilate into their society. When will the US wise up and demand immigrants living here assimilate or go elsewhere? The door does swing both ways.

God Bless Denmark.

The burqa is an article of clothing that has meaning to the wearer, so I disagree with that ban. But the adapting to the Danish culture is not unreasonable.

Wearing a stocking over ones head has meaning also.

Wearing a black bandana covering your face in Portland Oregon has meaning too! The police won't touch you!

Check out Philly, PA and some crimes committed by someone wearing that type of garb. I feel sure similar things have happened in other cities where there are large numbers wearing the burqas

The ban isn’t even a burka ban anyway ... it’s a public face covering ban.

Therefore wearing a stocking over their head or a f**e beard or an a****a hood or a Batman mask or a burqa are equally guilty.

In that light it’s fair.

OTOH what if I want to peacefully walk around with a Batman mask? This kind of outlaws Mardi Gras and Halloween.

There are currently 14 nations that have banned the burqa (not to be confused with the hijab), including Austria, Denmark, France, Belgium, Tajikistan, Latvia, Bulgaria, Cameroon, Chad, Congo-Brazzaville, Gabon, Netherlands, China, Morocco and Sri Lanka.

From Wikipedia one reads

A burqa or burka[1] /ˈbɜːrkə/ (Arabic: برقع ‎), also known as a chadaree[2] /ˈtʃædəriː/ (Pashto: چادري‎) in Afghanistan or a paranja /ˈpærənˌdʒɑː/ (Russian: паранджа́; Tatar: пәрәнҗә) in Central Asia, is an enveloping outer garment worn by women in some Islamic traditions to cover themselves in public, which covers the body and the face.
The term burqa is sometimes conflated with niqab. In more precise usage, niqab is a face veil that leaves the eyes uncovered, while a burqa covers the entire body from the top of the head to the ground, with only a mesh screen allowing the wearer to see in front of her. The burqa is also not to be confused with the hijab, a garment which typically covers the hair, neck and all or part of the chest, but not the face.

Orrrr...one may say,
The essence of this garb is to hide an individual. Involuntary or voluntary. Good evil.
I think this is a human/women's rights issue.
Don't you have any friends that are women?

Problem is that anything that hides the face from public view is a mask. How many people can appear in the USA while hiding behind a mask while in daily activities. Can you show up at work wearing a mask? What happens when a cop or any one asks for id.And you say I can't take off my mask because of religious freedom? You czan't even prove you g****r If your body is completely covered and you are wearing a mask.
