I recently purchased a used Lumix GX7 camera, it's a great camera and I really like it.
I have a problem though with the battery and remaining shots shown on the info screen.
I have inserted a fully charged battery which shows as full but on the remaining shots available as only 29 and each time I take a shot the count goes down by one of course until the "no power remaining" message appears. I have two genuine batteries and they both have only 29 shots left.
Can any UHH members help me out with this problem please.

So the battery shows a full charge, and it gives you only 29 shots? It says "29," and that turns out to be accurate? Regardless what setting you are using for the images, 29 is way too low. Maybe the charger isn't working well. Still, if the batteries think they are fully charged, maybe they are. Try a new battery - even a generic.

Buy some new batteries. Watson or Wasabi, if you don’t want to be extorted by Panasonic...
That camera is old enough for the batteries to have lost ability to hold a charge.
Lithium ion batteries last 3-7 years, depending on use. They like to be used hard, and frequently. Store at 40% to 60% charge, not dead, not full.
Your sd card is probably too small for the size photo you are trying to shoot? Battery level on my GX-9 is shown by bars, not by number of shots remaining.
I bought a GX7 from B&H new with three extra batteries and loved it, so when the motherboard died after a lot of use, I bought one on eBay with a low shutter count (I checked it myself). I now have two chargers, five batteries and a spare parts camera. I noticed that the Panasonic battery in the used camera that I bought had less life between charges than the four Halcyon batteries that I had been using. When I studied the small print on the batteries, I see that the Panasonic has 1200 mAh and the Halcyon batteries have 1400 mAh. This may be a clue for you.

Naptown Gaijin,. You are correct, Shots remaining info has nothing to do with battery level. OP should make sure that he or she is using a SDHC card (4GB-32GB).
You can download any of Panasonic’s manuals to your smartphone, tablet, or computer as a PDF. There’s a chart in each that lists approximate numbers of files vs SD card size...
I think your camera has a setting for remaining minutes (of video) and remaining shots. Maybe your display is set to remaining minutes rather than remaining shots. If that is not the issue, try using an empty SD card to be sure it is not a full SD card causing the issue. It doesn't sound likely that you could only charge any of your batteries to 29 minutes left, so it may not be a battery issue at all. Also, can you continue shooting after the no power remaining message comes on? Maybe the message is false.
