I have a new Canon 6D Mark II and cannot read raw files,
I'm told they do not have a code for it.
Does anyone have a fix for this?

What software are you having trouble with?
If LR/PS then you have the option to download Adobe's free DNG converter and convert your CR2 files to DNG which should read.
Joe
I have the same camera and the current (subscription) version of Lightroom and photoshop work great.

I need a link to Adobe DNG Converter, having computer problems.

"I need a link to Adobe DNG Converter"
Try a Google search for "Adobe DNG Converter".
"I'm told they do not have a code for it."
You are talking to the wrong people. "They" delivered it with the code.

I think the new 6D2 uses the new .cr3 format. fully supported in PS and LR CC but not any of the older versions unless via dng converter.
BUT the superb free Windows program FastStone Image Viewer will read and display without any problems at all.
Also a great free editor built in. I use it almost as much as LR classic CC
With a camera like the 6D Mark II you should be using .cr2 files and not .cr3.
Canon provides free Digital Photo Professional software that works with all Canon cameras.
For Windows computers FastRawViewer will allow File Explorer to display RAW files in file folders.

I'd like to thank all of you for your help,
thank you
I have a Windows 8 laptop. It will actually display CR2 files. My 7 laptop will not. LR 6.14 will import and work with CR2 files. My CS5 will not import them directly, but if I go to Bridge and tell the file to open with RAW, it works!
(I have a 5D MKIII.)

Use the Canon supplied software DPP4 to read and edit...it's free, download from Canon website. Also use the program to move images from camera to computer..... EOS utility.

It is a function of the age of the Canon camera. The Windows built-in codec only works with .cr2 files from 1DX vintage and older, which encompasses 5D Mark III.
For W7 I believe you can download the W8 codec from Microsoft.

That is Codex. Current subscription versions of Photoshop and Lightroom should be up to date for Canon 6D mk II Raw. As stated if for some reason your system does not read your camera's RAW and I should, you can use the free Adobe DNG Converter until you obtain the up to date current version of ACR with Lr or Ps.
Sometimes UHH fosters confusion!!
Adobe publishes charts for camera coverage as new cameras come out. The 6DMII has been out for a few years.
The Adobe chart says the EOS 6D Mark II needs Camera Raw (or the DNG converter) version 9.12, Lightroom (cloud) 1.0, Lightroom Classic 2015.12 and Lightroom "Perpetual" 6.12.
The free from Adobe DNG Converter 11.3 can be downloaded here:
https://supportdownloads.adobe.com/detail.jsp?ftpID=6675 It does not make old software work. It converts CR2 files to DNG files non destructively and those DNG files can be opened in old software.
That was all released a few years ago. Current versions are 11.3, 2.3 and 8.3. You can still buy and use the Perpetual Lightroom 6.14, even though it stopped being updated a couple years ago.
