My Grandmother loved lace, flowers, and green. Her bedroom had lace curtains, floral wall paper and a green ceiling. Her king size bed had an intricate white metal frame with a blue and purple peacock chenille bed spread. Her dressing table was covered in a fine sheen of dusting powder, she always smelled like Este Lauder Youth Dew, she loved to laugh and she taught me how to dance.
I was thinking of her while working on this. I know it won't have the sentimental value that it does for me but I hope you enjoy it.
Simple statements are best. This photo's main and background blend so well, quietly.
The lace texture is great. I like dpullum's reference to how all blends well and quietly.
After your touching description of your grandmother, I can certainly understand why this gentle image evokes memories of her. Can almost smell the Este Lauder! Lovely.
Very nice as usual. I am curious as to how you applied the screen overlay.
I'm glad it brought good memories for you.

Thank you sir. I did try to keep it simple and not overwork it.

Thanks Linda. As soon as I found the lace texture I knew what I wanted to do with it. With all the details in the lace and flower it didn't need a lot of extra stuff thrown in.

Thanks! The lace is actually the background in normal blend mode. The flower is the top layer and I think I used the overlay blend mode. It is on my computer at work so I can't check it to be sure. I will look at it Monday and confirm.
Thanks Keni
I was going to spend today working on focus stacking but now I guess it's back to PS and layers.

I need to look into focus stacking. Its next behind landscape post processing. Just finished a Ben Long tutorial on that yesterday. I love his sense of humor.
