Chevy C8 Corvette, to be introduced in about 2 weeks. Had a '70 for 5 years, and a '02 for 17 years. Loved them both, but looking forward to the first mid-engined one.

At this point in my life, it would have to be reliable and maintainable, so I would choose a Porsche 911 (Turbo) S or a Mercedes E63 AMG. Both are rocket fast (~600 BHP, 0-60, 3 sec, 200 MPH) and very “streetable”

Stuttgart Stormers... I can dig it big time, I know I could easily live with either...
apart from probably being arrested for driving in "a sporting manner" not conducive
to making Senior Contstable (purguring rat bag) Jones happy... He hates anybody
driving anything quicker than his SS Commodore... (Think your 2001 Pontiac GTO
with four doors.)

One day I swooped around a corner in my W124 Merc while he was filling his noise hole with KFC.
He wrote me a ticket claiming he lasered me speeding. Talk about a lier. I hate crooked cops.
I took the matter to court but the magistrate said he believed the lying swine and I paid the fine for
Joneses purgery.

I had that Merc (cell phone photo below) for 9 years as a daily driver and traveled from Melbourne
(about as far South as you can get here in Australia), onto the Cape York Peninsular beyond where the road ends in Far North Queensland, as far North as you can get in a 2 wheel drive In Australia... and then some.

When I sold it to a friend, it still looked and operated like it did when it rolled off the production
line in Stuttgart... apart from a small leak in a vacuum tube when the climate control was in between modes.

The year that W124 was made Daimler Benz was credited with the best build quality
in the world. They lost that crown a few years back.

Anyway, an E class Merc is still a great way to travel today imho.

A 1932 SJ Dusenberg would be nice. The last one I saw sold at auction for $3 million. I don't have a photo.

I'd pick a 1972 De Tomaso Pantera. But then, it's because I own this one.

We've all got a cross to bear. ;-)

If I remember correctly
that car is fitted with a 351 4v Clevo? We used that engine down here (Australia)
to power a local unit known as a 1972 Phase III GTHO Falcon. It had a shaker poking outa the hood,
a 4 speed top loader and a 9 inch Detroit locker geared for the annual "Taxi" race at Mt, Panorama Bathhurst: Photo (I got off the net) below.

Anyway, Nice photo of your DT, a bit too saturated for my taste, but that's just me... Nice image all the same, and a sensational driveway ornament... Just kidding Bob

Your in luck! There's one for sale. Here's a link to the seller of your choice of motor vehicle:

There are times I wish I was driving something with a 105mm Howitzer too.

My first car would be my fathers' 68' Shelby.and signed by Carroll Shelby. Then my second would be the car l had a 2 door 68' Pontiac GTO 455 engine, Thirst 4 speed Transmission with positive traction, Hooker Header, and a Holley 1250 Double Pump Carb. I would still have had this car but it kept on blowing Blast Resistors and Coils. Then ths car would die on me totally. When it finally died for the last time was,on the Highway and it blew the Resistor and Coil set that l loat full power of vehicle and totalled it out . Back in those days,Solid State ignition was not heard of or l would still have had the car to this day.

If you could have any one car old or new, what would it be?

Attach a picture of your choice if you like.

I know I would have trouble selecting just 1 above another;
but sometimes tough decisions just have to be made.

66 red Thunderbird because there was one in front of me at a stoplight and I stayed far enough back to admire it that I avoided hitting it when a car caused a chain reaction fender bender with me and the two cars in back of me. I shot forward a couple of feet just as the light changed and the t-bird left and missed a bump from our 66 Ford Galaxy. The offending car backed up and left the scene, leaving a trail of radiator fluid.

I would have cried if that beautiful little car had been damaged.
66 red Thunderbird because there was one in front ... (show quote)

Nice work.

I've wondered; if you notice your going to be rear ended,
would it be a good idea to jam ones foot on the brake pedal
to reduce the acceleration from the impending impact, to
mitigate whiplash on ones goodly neck? And to reduce the
cannoning of ones own car into a vehicle in front? Or perhaps
being pushed into the flow of crossing traffic
if you happen to be at pole position at a red light???

Happened to me once long ago while on my Honda 750/4 waiting for
my light to turn green. Spoiled my weekend.
