Comparison of Commlite HS and Yongnuo adapters for Canon EF/EFs lenses to Sony E mount

I cross graded from my Canon 80D to a Sony A6500 recently. I purchased a Commlite HS adapter to allow use of my Canon EF mount lenses. Since I still have a Canon EOS 6D MKII, I don't want to add many E mount lenses to my collection. The Commlite worked pretty good and was only $150 US. When Yongnuo announced their new adapter, I was interested because it was cheap, $100 US, and Yongnuo flashes have worked very well for me. I did a comparison of the 2 adapters with my 15 AF lenses for Canon mount. The results are in the attached pdf file. The adapters were up to date with firmware as of 6-15-2019. My results show the Yongnuo is not ready for prime time. I will wait for further firmware releases. Can anybody recommend Metabones over the Commlite considering the price difference? YMMV with different camera/lenses.

The Sigma MC-11 Canon-Sony E adapter seems to get the most consistently good reviews here on UHH and other sites, but it is a bit more expensive than your Commlite.
All my lenses are Sony except a couple of legacy manual lenses which work fine with the cheap $10 adapters.

From viewing online reviews, the Sigma works extremely well with Sigma lenses, but so, so with Canon lenses. I don’t know if more recent firmware has changed that. I only have 1 older Sima lens. I agree, having a few old screw-in Pentax lenses that work great with a cheap adapter.

I have the Metabones mark5 for my a6300 and a variety of EOS and E mount lenses. Works well and awfully at the same time/lens combo. Have not been able to isolate the cause/causes of the problems. Solved the pressing issue by upgrading to a 7Dii for the Canon lenses and enjoy using both systems as applicable.

After comments like yours and the many reviews I've seen, I conclude that most of the adapters (Metabones, Sigma and the new Commlite) are similar. They work well with some lenses and bodies, ok with others and not at all with other combos. They are all a work in progress (Metabones is further ahead) and none work very well with video.
I think my best option for my A6500 is to keep the Sony 16-50mm I have and buy an E mount general purpose 18-135/200mm. Then use my Canon lenses for specific purposes.
I am glad I sold my EOS 80D and replaced it with a Sony A6500. I'm getting older and the lighter weight of the Sony is appreciated.
