Try double matting with subtle color or gray shade under mat (and explore a line outline) for B&W. While this seems to be a big space, some of the most dramatic displays I've seen is a single--OK, largish-- print "floating" on a single wall. Pick or MAKE a photograph that commands the eye into it and is deserving (demanding?) of the size and format and go for it.
Think of it this way, You'll only be putting ONE hole in the wall. But it will be a big one--make it count. (Cuz, after you hang the picture, you'll only see the hole when you paint again in ?? years?
