I bought a Petri FT SLR and extra lenses while in the Navy on a Med Cruise with Marines in 1970. It somehow got small holes in the primary shutter curtain so I ended up making a deal for another just like it. I still have that second one plus the extra lenses. I have used it only a couple times in the past ten years or so, but it still functions perfectly and I'm hanging on to it. Maybe I'll pass it, and my Pentax K1000SE, on to my grandsons if they develop an interest in photography.
I am am still amazed at the quality of images in a old photo album that were made with my Petri FT in the 70s. You are smart to have held on to it. I worked at a camera store when I got back from Korea and felt that newer cameras must be better- not always.
