When someone loads a picture with "store original" How do I look at the shooting data?
I use EXIF Viewer. It doesn't require the photo to be downloaded.

Depending on your internet browser you use, there are extensions you can install that allows you to view an image without downloading the image simply by right clicking and choosing the extension. I use EXIF viewer for firefox.
https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/exif-viewer/
Which EXIF viewer gives the most information or do they all give the same amount?

The most information I've found to date is collected by ExifTool by Phil Harvey but that is a separate application where the downloading of the image file to your HD is required. It's a freeware but extremely thorough.

For the most info, I use "RawDigger",
https://www.rawdigger.com . It's a raw image analyzer, much more than an EXIF viewer.
Many features including raw histograms, EXIF, etc. Free trial. Windows & Mac.
With my Sony DNG and Nikon NEF files, it shows about 300-350 values from the EXIF file.
My biggest question is why is this so important?

First question: Windows or Mac?
In Windows, open in Windows Photo Viewer, then File->Properties
SX2002
Loc: Adelaide, South Australia
I use FastStone Image Viewer/Editor and by opening a pic and moving my cursor to the right of the screen, the Exif data is displayed. I find it very handy, especially to see the date it was taken and other details.
Especially when viewing pics from holidays, etc, taken a long time ago.
If you use "Photos " for Mac, Click on the info icon and your exif data is shown

Thank you; I am aware of that. There is far more info available than what you get there.

If you don't let me see the EXIF date from your image, how the heck am I supposed to take my next shot using the same settings?

That's just it. The exif data from my photographs would be very misleading.
