Everyday thru Oct 20th the train will depart at 10am (central time zone).
They start preparing the locomotive a 8am or soon thereafter (central time zone).
Click the link below to access the yard cameras. The video cameras will run for about 10 minutes and then you will have to restart them.

You should see ash pan clean out, filling the tender with water and loading coal in tender.
10am (could be delays) the train should pull out for the days run.

I have been keeping an eye on the webcams for a while but not much has been happening until a couple weeks ago. Looking forward to seeing a little more activity at the yard.

It sounds like you started watching before the season started. That season goes from the end of May to the beginning of Oct. As Pat said the train departs Chama 10:00 AM MDT. The train from Antonito Colorado arrives at 4:00 PM MDT. Both times are +/-. There is activity starting a couple of hours before the morning departure, things are quiet from then until the arriving train with activity for a couple of hours after it gets in. Those are daily scheduled events. During the day there is often other activity by the railroad as maintenance is constant. Beyond the railroads activity in the summer the all volunteer group (Friends of the Cumbres and Toltec Scenic RR) hold week long work sessions and you can often see them doing restoration work on non-revenue rolling stock like historic box cars, tank cars, maintenance equipment. The Friends also work on structures like the coal tipple but unfortunately you can't see that on camera

I started watching the webcams off and on since this post appeared last July.

I am aware of when their season runs.

My reason for the post was so other readers of the forum who might not be familiar with the railroad would have an idea of it's operating times and what they may see on the cameras.

That looked like a great video. Too bad they kept it out of sight mostly with all the wording.

I went to the video cam site to watch the train leave for today's run but looks like the North and South cams are belly up. The depot cam is working. Hopefully they'll get the two cams up and running before too long.

The camera's time says it is 10:15 but the train is still in the station. I'm wondering what's the delay when I see some guys pushing a gurney away from the train with somebody on it. Looks like some medical incident delayed the start of the trip.

Oh Lord!
The camera thing can be addressed and I sure hope pray the person with a medical issue can be helped.
