I call mine eye contact. Taken in Barrington IL
I call mine eye contact
This was taken about 45 minutes ago - settings: ISO 160, f/8, 3 seconds. I want to try again in a week or so b/c the sky was too bright due to the almost full moon.
It's the time of year to be aware of the little people in our yards...
I scared this little feller up, as I was mowing, and he went
scurrying down beside the house..
I took off my shirt and threw it on him to stop him...
Gathered him up.. then I took him back to where I found him
Sue and I went on a mission.. we found 3 more...
they will fit in the palm of my hand..
we put them under a bush... I kept mowing..
A few hours later, he was back where
I scared him up.. and I --
took the picture..
The road less travelled...
3 shots..
mono-chromed...
I thought
the bridges
were significant...

(2) Enjoying the colors of Spring/Summer surrounding us. This one belongs to our next door neighbor, but I try to keep it watered so we can enjoy it as she tends to ignore her garden area!

I was planning to post these in the Gallery but having seen this Challenge, I thought I would share them here.
The Iris was captured on a bright sunny day with the sun behind the flower. The exposure was ISO 50, f/4, shutter at 1/800. Flash was used with a -3 FEC and high-speed sync. Camera 5D4 with 24-105mm f4L and EX600-RT II flash. Focal length was 105mm while positioning within the minimum focus distance of the lens.
The church was taken with with a 17-40mm f4L set to 17mm and f/16. ISO 800, 20 second exposure. Color corrected for the sodium vapor lights and blue saturation reduced. The sky was overcast with the moon at about 206 degrees SSW which is why there is light in the upper right. A single star peeked through the clouds as I took this shot.
The cityscape was also taken with the 17-40mm lens set to 25mm, f/16. ISO 800, 30 second exposure. Also color corrected for the sodium vapor lights and blue saturation reduced.
In both of the church and the cityscape photographs, the star burst of the lights were created by the lens being stopped down to f/16. The lens had a seven blade iris which created a fourteen-point star burst effect.
