I was looking for a mood shot. The only light source is the candle. Room was 95% dark.
Thought about laying a flower down in the foreground but probably wouldn't get enough light from the candle.

Moody for sure.

Very nice, Jim. I think the flower would have worked if the petals were light colored - yellow or white. The translucence of the petals would have made a very nicely suggestive photo. Place the flower itself between the candle and the camera with the stem to the left in front of the bottle.

Nice results considering only light source is the candle. Perhaps if you moved the candle a bit closer to the front of the label the full name of the winery could be standing out a some more. But overall I like it.

A nice shot indeed. With today’s camera sensors low light shouldn’t be too much of a problem. I would try a squatter candlestick, which would lower the light (height-wise) and light the label perfectly for Frank whilst showing a little more colour in the bottle possibly. And as Bob says, go for the flower Jim, it will be the crowning glory of a very nice image.

I'd really like to see it with a flower. Try Bob's suggestion.

I will give it another try. Just came back from the flower shop with a white rose.
