Nicole asked me to do some images of her for her web site.

This was one of the images she enjoyed. Doing portraiture requires certain selections that often are not found in traditional portraiture. In this image it is the extension of the hands and arms. To many this looks awkward and frankly rather odd. For Nicole it is a gesture that is common to her performances before the camera. So here the client breaks from the norm to display herself to what she regards as what she wants.

Was it your intent to have the white balance off?

Yes. Something to do with a certain 'look', I don't get it either. I am going to adjust the balance with a second image. But like the arms and hands it is styling. Weird to me as well.

But it has a very red cast on my screen. I see that there have been comments about it already.

I like the pose and attire, but she has a bit of a stern look. Is that the mood you were wanting?

I wasn't to fond of this picture when I first saw it. The red cast was just too much for me to take in and believe. I read all the comments and then decided to do my own adjustments primarily with the white balance. I did a small amount of tweaking with curves. Without the red cast, in my opinion, I think you have a very interesting picture that your model will appreciate. I very much like the composition in this setting.
