Took this at local Lake Martin swamp in Breaux Bridge, LA. Tried focus stacking with 11 exposures. Then stacked them in HDR merge. Over to PS, used clone stamps to get rid of some of weeds in front, but kept those to the right for perspective. Brought back to LR in tiff, cropped to 8x10 and sharpened to taste.
Any thoughts on a better work flow or other techniques? This was at sunset and the trees were in near darkness, taken with D750, @ f9 or f11, 1/40 and ISO around 400, Can't remember exactly. HDR effect brought up shadows quite well.
Mike, Great color and composition and post processing. You need to print it and frame it for your home so you can enjoy it in Bad Weather.
I don't have any experience with the technique, but I sure like your pic for the tree reflection and hint of final moments of sunset color. Thanks for posting to PP Forum!
Great process! You might want to straighten the horizon before you drain the swamp.😊

I love this photo!!! Louisiana is one of the few states I have not been to but it is now on my bucket list!
3 things I might consider doing with this image which just reflects my taste and maybe not others:
1) Straighten the horizon
2) Reduce the overall saturation. IMHO the whole photo is over-saturated and thus giving it a "not reality" feeling (just my taste).
3) the sky is showing posterization from over-processing a jpeg or possibly working in 8 bit color (not my area of expertise but I believe these are 2 factors that can cause posterization)
Just love the composition of the photo!!
Beautiful end result, just needs to be lowered a fraction on the left to straighten the horizon. Its only a small amount but makes a difference.. I tried it and used the water level to straighten on the left..

Thank all for the suggestions, I tweaked a bit on horizon and took down saturation and dehaze a bit in the sky. See if this result is better!

Saturation is very much a personal preference. Revet mentioned the sky and I do think your re-work is more attractive in that area. I like the overall softer colors of your new edit because the subject works so well with a gentle serene mood.
