Love the mood you have captured.
As a beginner in the portrait game, was your main light above and pointed at her left shoulder?
If so, how did you then get such an even light on her face and hand - a second low light pointed upwards at a much lower power, or a reflector of some sort?
Ignore my questions if they intrude too much!
Not at all, I’m happy to discuss methods anytime.
This was a little ‘aside’ really. We had two models at a Victorian water pumping station. Janet was waiting to be posed in the room we were in and was leaning on the entrance door, in the mid-afternoon sunlight. Somebody grabbed a reflector and positioned it low left and, presto!, a rather nice effect. As soon as you point a camera at these girls you get a series of poses - they are very experienced and helpful.
From the outset our tutor emphasised the importance of the relatively inexpensive reflector in environmental portraiture.
