This is a poor quality shot but I was in a vehicle when we encountered a flock of wild turkeys half a block from our house. Along with the turkeys there were two or three of the birds shown below. They were about the size of a large chicken and the body shape reminded me of grouse or quail. I have never seen anything like them as far as I can recall. They were very shy and I couldn't get out of the vehicle without spooking them. The whole flock had gone over this gate and then proceeded to come back onto the road and move on.

Very definitely a guinea hen. My neighbor has them with his turkeys. These have been used in the past as "guard" birds, as they get excited and noisy if danger comes around.

I am sure it is a guinea hen. This weekend there was a segment on one of their veterinarian shows about them on Animal Planet.

Definitely a Guinea! One of the neighboring farmers in N.C. had a flock of them that stayed around the house and barns as watch dogs. Man ! Were they ever noisy!

Guinea Fowl. It is a non-native so not in your Bird Guide that covers Florida. As they say, location, location, location. They come from Africa!

Definitely some variety of Guinea Fowl. Google Guinea Fowl Images and you'll see several similar birds to those that are in your images.

Looks like one of the Guinea hens my neighbor used to have. One day as my dad was driving down the road past their house, a flock of the birds tried to attack his car, a 1960 Metropolitan Nash.

My cats are picky eaters. I doubt they would want Guineas since they don't come in a can.😁

My cat eats any type of bird he can caught. Even the ones we cook and eat he will also eat.

Mine don't get outside to catch their own, but they will eat cooked chicken usually. They really are picky though.
