Free Sunday is here, and I owe a big thank you to Patography for getting you all started last Free Sunday while I was deep in Topanga Canyon with sketchy service, but enjoying time with our granddaughter at Pepperdine University over Memorial Day Weekend. Also want to thank the challenge hosts this past week. The Military Salute was great, Katspangle, and wow, GiGiMac103, looking up really went up and over the top. I'll be taking the summer off to enjoy the summer scheduling for our thread here. Looks like some good ones and I hope to get a week in there myself.
This trip we visited the Joshua Tree National Park while we were close to it before the weekend. A really unique desert landscape. More about that later. A couple of months ago we were at Big Bend National Park here in west Texas. 46 years in San Antonio, but we finally got there, and oh by the way….
….we had lunch with the Roadrunner while there.

We stayed at nice Air B&B between Joshua Tree and 29 Palms, CA. I walked up to a ridge top the first night there to enjoy the sunset.
Look who was there to enjoy it with me!

I was just thinking of Annette today for some reason!
Larry is right. The summer UHH schedule begins Monday (but gets started tomorrow night) For those who've not "summered" with us before, the schedule acknowledges that all are busy and vacations coming and going. I am sure Lesley will "weigh in" at some point, but there will be one challenge per week (M-F) with weekends being "No Host Just Post No Obligation". Lesley is starting the June weekends, I have July and I know someone else has August. It's like having 2 "Freebie Days" each weekend. No one is ever obligated to comment, but summer is "guilt free" when it comes to commenting. Summer is short, vacations are short, so its OK to JUST POST. Outside of someone starting the weekends, there is no designated host for Saturday and Sunday. Weekly challenge - also GUILT FREE. Post when you can, comment if you'd like, but no hurt feelings if your post isn't acknowledged. I am attaching the June calendar (hope you don't mind, Lesley) and I'll start off the first summer challenge tomorrow night. Photogirl, Lesley will post the completed calendar. She is taking the last week "Summer Fun". It really helps when folks step up. REMEMBER, host a week, host checks in, folks participate as they are able, everyone takes a deep breath, practices their photography, and we give each other a break.
Pepperdine is located in Malibu, CA so the views are spectacular from campus which is up on a hillside on the Pacific Coast Highway. So you can imagine there was a lot of ….
Thank you from me too, Kat and GiGiMAC for hosting last week. I have a couple FS, Larry. Took these yesterday with my phone and then worked them with my LR mobile app. Trying to get used to it.
