On a recent trip to Japan, the White House requested the US Navy move a ship, the USS John McCain, out of view so it wouldn't be a distraction when Mr. Trump visited the naval facility. Seriously?! Are they really that childish?! Apparently the folks who run the navy saw this as a frivolous request and the destroyer was not moved. Mr. Trump really needs to get over his dislike of the now deceased Senator, ex-POW, decorated pilot and war hero who had more integrity in his left pink finger than Mr. Trump has in his entire large body.

Everyone needs to GROW UP. Thought we all were adults
How right you are. Totally amazing.
I wish people would keep their political opinions to themselves, especially those who can’t accept the fact that President Trump is doing such a great job.

I will just say that wanting people to keep their political opinions to themselves
on the internet is like spitting into the wind and hoping not to get wet.

I measure how good a job an administration is doing with a monetary barometer. In the 28 months Mr. Trump has been president of the USA, my pension funds have been stagnant or have lost ground. Ironically the two time periods that my pension funds realized their biggest growth was during the Clinton and Obama administrations. I attribute the latter to the economy recovering from the recession of 2008.
Do you really believe that imposing tariffs that will be passed on to consumers increasing the cost of living is doing a good job? Maybe you are a wealthy person, but the majority of us are not.

From what I heard, it was the White House that made the request, not Trump. Trump said he did not know about it and would not have done it. Given the combination of his badmouthing of McCain and the rapid turnover in the WH it's not surprising that someone in the WH made the request, so Trump bears some responsibility but (per his words) did not initiate it.
I don't think it was not moved because the Navy considered it a frivolous request, but because it was undergoing repairs and could not be moved. Supposedly they put a tarp over the name and moved a barge in front of it to block the view. Again, that is all something I heard and I have not tried to confirm the stories (because I don't consider it all that important in the larger view of things).
Always good to repeat what one has heard. Plus, we know trumps word is good.

For the record, I am not a fan of mr trump, but I don't like to accuse people of things they don't deserve.

For the record, how do you know what he deserves? Something else you heard?

Like all the rest of us, I am not a part of the DC scene, so I only hear what the media report. And I look at media on both sides.
The degree of polarization is beyond what I am used to from the past, and I can't side with either the left or the right, both of which have taken extreme positions.
But I do disagree with some of his actions. For example, I don't believe tariffs are doing what he seems to want to do. Smoot-Hawley was before my time but protectionism is generally considered by most economists to have exacerbated the depression in the '30s. We have had a global economy for more than a century (but it has become more global in the last 50 years). I don't see a way to prosper by turning that off. And tariffs are paid to our government by the people who buy foreign goods, not by the foreign manufacturers. They are hurt by decreased sales. We are hurt by increased costs, effectively increasing taxes, something that politicians on both sides want to avoid. The way to avoid it is not by calling it something else.

You should move your pension funds around a bit. Mine have been doing just fine.
