.. Well it doesnt really retun home, just ends up in the wifes's office. never the less, if one read in one of my other topics, I was asked to exhibit my Lonely Teddy bear Bookend picture at the Johns Hopkins art & photograpohy exhibit last month. This exhibit has just expired and all those who entered needed to recover their prints.

But some time ago, I found out a few things about this exhibit and I didn't like that they moved my Teddy bear print from an ideal location to a not so ideal location. Learning this I removed my Teddy Bear print from this exhibit a few weeks ago. Little did I know my wife, resubmitted a print which has been in her office for a number of years.

This print taken back in 2014 while on our trip from Maryland to Colorado shows a redish/purple reed which was very abundant along side the Colorado roads. My wife asked what they were, so I had to stop and check them out. Only 2 feet tall or less, I crouched down in the road and took this picture with my then Fujifilm XP60 camera.

Once we figured out how we wanted to frame this print, we selected to use a canvas option through Walmart. Even though my wife submitted this print to make up me removing my teddy bear print, I never liked this "Reeds of Colorado" image as the camera I was forced to use just didn't capture the moment as I was hoping.

As I said, my wife re-submitted this print because she knew I felt bad about removing my teddy bear image. But about one week ago, I get emails congratulating me on my success.. I din't know what this was about. The emails went on to say that my "reeds" picture took second place at the Johns Hopkins exhibit.

If one doesn't know about these exhibits, when your work is displayed there, people from NASA and other very important organizations attend the Koffiakoff center for lectures etc. this means your print is on display for about 1 month. Anyway, I should feel proud that my Reeds took second place but I don't. I feel as if this was a lame attempt to try and get my to feel sorry that I removed my teddy bear print from the exhibit and it's not working.

Yesterday marked the day when everyone was to come and recover their art. My wife and her friend went to the center and took this picture of the print on the wall just before they removed it. My wife later emailed me saying: "You can now say, you're an award winning Photographer" This print ended up back in her office. But she did ask if I wanted the red ribbon.. I told her: "It wont do me any good at home, keep it on the print in your office"

This picture is nice.
I just looked and I like this one better than the Teddy Bear.
You won an award in spite of yourself.
But I can only say one thing about your attitude - get over it.
A win is a win even if it was not for the one you thought was better.
Withdrawing an entry because you didn't like where they exhibited it??????

I haven't seen your "Teddy Bear" image, but dollars to donuts, I would like this image better.

If this is the image that took second place, then apparently the judges need new glasses or did they not offer a critique of your image in order to achieve better results.
