Back with a BIG bang...

Ok, almost a year ago now....
I went to spend some time at my Daughter and Son-In-Law's for a Grandson's High School Graduation, and then some fishing.
I hauled my Astronomy gear along, but never set it up. They live on 5 acres and mostly forested, not much stellar real estate available. That break partly broke my connection chasing the night sky.
Then, when I got home, an emergency pulled me into the insane world of my Son-In-Law-by-home's business. So I was mounted in a 1-ton Dodge 3500 Laramie 4X4 diesel delivering and retrieving high end rental equipment serving the Studio Industry.
Being on-call to jump and run was not conducive to Star gazing, nor the crazy hours.

Well, I think I've made it back to my backyard, finally.... I did a few attempts here and there, but our crazy weather with the nuts driving in L.A. Traffic... Times been as scarce as Hen's Teeth.
A few days ago I got set up with high hopes, only to be dashed when my Infinity camera failed to be recognized by my tablet. I thought the camera was dead.
Finally, I tried connecting it to my desk computer and discovered the camera was OK. Ah-Haaaa...
So I decided to do a full restore on my Baby Dell 2 in 1. Took a whole day, and had to download all my favorite programs and reinstall, tweak, and correct, to run my conglomeration. It got... interesting.

So, uncharacteristic for me, I stepped up to the latest of the greatest. Instead of staying a little back from the cutting edge. Glad I did.
I use Stellarium as my targeting program, It's very simple to me, pick an object, it takes me there.
Celestron NexRemote gives me my computer link to my mount. Those are my two necessities to get things running.
I had a few bugs to work out with Stellarium and COM port issues, but finally the rust came off and I figured that out...again.
NexRemote through me a curve. It has new things like Auto Align. Now I saw that years ago, by accident, and it went away. Now, it seems to be a part of the program, and last night I got to see how the newer bells and whistles work. And WOW, they finally have delivered what the hype was promising 3-4 years ago.

I did the Auto Align, 3 target alignment, and sailed off into my Northeast Earthbound skies. Focus was appearing sharp, but later I did do a single step adjustment after applying my Bahtinov mask and doing some small increments.
Over the next 4 1/2 hours I was able to very nearly bullseye each object or anomaly I chose in Stellarium.
Out of 6 targets, I collected 19 "keepers" of varying time frames, or other experiments.
Some were objects I've never before been able to image. Here is 6 of the better ones....

As always with me, feel free to download and play with these if you'd like to.

Thanks, Brian!
Yep, the old Vixen saddle still fits.
But I should upgrade it to a better clamp maybe.
