Sunset Rainbow

Ballard Loc: Grass Valley, California

The other day a rainbow formed during the sunset. At first only the left side of the rainbow was visible, later both sides became visible as the fall rain changed location. As the sun got lower the clouds and rainbow became more and more red. The sequence below shows the color change. The photo's where taken with focal lengths that varied between 24 mm, 70 and 200 mm. Even at 24 mm the entire rainbow wouldn't fit in the frame. I need to save my pennies and get a wider angle lens.

A beautiful set. Sunsets are naturally quite beautiful by themselves. By capturing the rainbow within is magnificent and an added bonus. Congratulations on a wonderful set.

You don’t need a wider lens, you need to stitch your shots.
