Flashpoint/Godox Firmware

I bought a Flashpoint Zoom-Ion R2 for my Sony A7ii a while ago from Adorama. Didn't use it for a few months and then pulled it out yesterday to take some outside portraits (fill flash right off the hot shoe), using the Sony Zeiss 24-70 F4. To make a long story short, the camera and flash don't seem to talk. Yes, the flash recognizes the camera when attached, however, all shots came out way underexposed. Checked to make sure camera settings were correct. Cleaned the contacts on the flash and camera, pulled the battery and put it back and still nada. Went back to basics, with the TTL setting and took a shot at f4, 1/60th, ISO 400, and again got underexposed crap results. Thinking of firmware updates, I went to Adorama's support web and found their version for the flash to be 1.6, same as I currently have. Just for the heck of it, I went on to Godox support web and found their compatible V860ii-S firmware to be at ver 1.7....aaa-ha! So, calling Adorama to get it straight, they said I had to email their tech people and wait (does "cold day in hell" ring a bell). I don't want to screw around with 2 different firmware updates even though Flashpoint and Godox are similar. Is anyone else experiencing my dilemma? Is there something I'm overlooking on the flash or my A7ii? Thanks for any help.

Is there a website for Godox? If so, can you download the 1.7 firmware update from their product support (USA or Global) site?
