The Arsenal AI photo assistant

This intrigues me to no end but I don't want to be among the first to purchase this. I keep seeing ads on FB and think it should be a great add to my camera equipment. But, at $199 it's a little steep for something not thoroughly tested. So, if you know of someone who's made the leap or you have done it yourself, please write a review. Thanks

If you are only buying it out of curiosity, then you are probably wasting your money. However, if you buy it because you have studied the features closely and you have come to the conclusion that they can seriously help you with your photography, in a manner that is superior to your present approach, then likely it is worth the money spent.

For that amount of money you can have the Adobe subscription prepaid for almost 2-years. You can probably think of other, better uses of the dollars if the premier software tools are not what you want.

This looks a great new gadget for those of us willing to improve our photographs.
While I haven't used it either I would be willing to give it a try.

However, my wife has warned me not to buy anything new. Should I do so, the dog gets to sleep in a nice warm bed. I of course will enjoy sleeping under the backyard deck with my camera and gadgets I love soooo much!

We've gotten so many questions about this, but I don't think anyone here has bought one. I don't see the need for it, especially for that price. Maybe 200 of us could chip in $1.00 and have someone buy and test it.

I was curious about it too. Fund out it’s been around for a few years, gets mixed reviews. Looks like a lot of gadgetry to me. Kind of like clearing a 7' high jump from a 4' ladder.

After looking at the specs for this Arsenal gizmo, I will save my money and continue perfecting my skills in Photoshop Elements/Premiere v18 (I skip one upgrade so I'll be buying v20 nexr year) and Photoshop CS 5.9. It was only wishful thinking. Everything I shoot is in JPEG + RAW so I'm happy.

Put your current camera in full auto and go out and shoot. That's about all that Arsenal AI is. Many camera manufacturers put a lot of research into the full auto selections on cameras so that people don't have to put much thought into making a decent picture.

I received one as a gift, it is hard to get excited about it. At the basic level it is another form of AUTO setting. On the advanced level, it will do some form of focus stacking and exposure stacking. (The instructions need a lot of help.) I could get the focus stack to work but is nowhere near the quality of Helicon. I could not get the exposure stack to work, always getting a message saying I exceeded the +-5 EV that thing is capable of. (Improvements are coming so it says.) Best I could conclude was I had something black in the view and that was the end of the process. On the positive side, the remote function works well and connects much faster than Snapbridge (for Nikon). It will work off a Android Tablet although it is designed for a phone. If I was a beginner (hold the jokes) I would consider it. But at this stage of my non-beginner career I don't need it.

I prefer to be the one deciding on my settings. If one finds this attachment intriguing, I'll bet they go bonkers about a robot that would take their camera out and come back with excellent photos they could claim they did. OH, and all while the camera owner stays home drinking a beer and watching some sports show.

I felt the same way, pre ordered on Kickstarter. Delivery kept getting pushed back. Ultimately I read so many negatives from people who couldn't get it to work that I cancelled the order.
If it does work for you apparently it's does all kinds of things you can already do, or you could do it with something else that works better.
They did refund my money quickly so that's a plus.
