I picked up my new Epson V600 film/ print scanner and I'm getting ready to scan some of my mounted 35 mm slides only to notice there are several mounts for scanning film strips bt nothing for mounted slides. I've looked at several u-tube videos and none of the mention this situation. So question is how do you align and scan mounted slides on this machine?

The 35 mm film holder which came with your scanner, should have places for two strips of 6 negatives, or 4 slides in standard mounts. When scanning slides the tab C on the film holder should be in the notch on your scanner. See page #30 of the users guide.

Are you sure you have all the parts? There should be a film holder with two strips for 35mm film on one side and spaces for four mounted slides on the other.

Did you get a CD for the scanner software? "Users guide" is very helpful. Go to: Placing Originals On Scanner, particularly, page 7.

1st: Make sure to remove document mat
2nd: Put "film holder" in place
3rd: Place slides in film holder

You may want to thoroughly study the scanner's manual before doing any scanning. This will save you lots of future headaches.

I was given very useful info from a fellow blogger. Last night I bought the Vuescan software, took over my Epson and have been scanning photos at record speed and extremely happy with the results.
As soon as I am finished with the prints I will start with my slide collection. The scanner has all the accessories needed, for slides and negatives, and with this software I am finally up and running.

Get a copy of "SCANNING NEGATIVES AND SLIDES, 2ND EDITION" or "THE VUESCAN BIBLE" (specific to Vvescan software) by Sascha Steinhoff
https://rockynook.com/author-info/sascha-steinhoff-7/

I will also recommend the VueScan software.

They are available from Amazon and Barnes & Noble in e-book format. I have both books in real paper, first editions.

I found Epson customer support to be extremely helpful.

Have VueScan software. Turns out my scanner was a restock and the 35 mm holders weren't there. Got a new one everything is fine. Now.
