Sometimes all is not lost.

I have gotten to know this young man batting in these photos. I was hoping to get a picture of the ball hitting the bat which is basically a hope and pray shot. So anyway I was focusing on the batter and firing off shots as soon as the pitcher delivered. Each pitch I had the batter in perfect focus EXCEPT for this one. This was the pitch he hit about 420 ft. for a 3 run homer. It was one of those the left fielder didn’t even turn around. He knew it was smoked. When I checked the photo series I was so upset that the camera had decided to focus on the background. I was tempted to delete the series but didn’t. As it turns out it is kind of cool watching the eyes of his teammates following the flight of the ball. The last photo shows the catcher on the far right with his jaw starting to drop from how far he hit it. My friend actually kind of likes the series even though he is not in focus. I just wish I had kept shooting because it would have been cool to see the whole team erupt. Anyway, don’t always be in a hurry to delete photos in camera.

Sorry you didnt get the bat on the ball, but sounds like he certainly did .
Sometimes the best action is the action away from the action.
