I have a Tamrac Lighting case that is about 15 yrs old, The soft rubber on the wheels has fallen apart and the remainder leaves black marks on the floors, Not good.
I have sent an Email to Tamrac but I'M holding my breath.

A few years ago I tried to replace a Tamrac sling bag. Discovered Tamrac had gone bankrupt and been bought by Gura. Gura evidently rebranded itself as Tamrac, with its own products. Did you try a creative luggage repair shop? Lots of potential magic with online skate wheels.

Try mcmaster-carr they sell everything. You might find a generic replacement in the right size. Would need some tools.

Thank you for your help.
I'll make repairs myself, or just go with a light weight two wheel dolly.

Check your local home improvement for some wheels that are similar and replace them. I just did that on a big Pelican roll around case and it worked out fine.

Thank you for your help.
I was hoping for O.E.M. replacements, I'll just use a small two wheel dolly.

Not as easy as a Pelican Case. The O.E.M.s are riveted in. Not a big deal since I no longer move it around a lot. Just would be nice.

Hey! Older guy here too and I am still truckin aroud lots of heavy gear so my wheels are important to me. I know what you are talking about!

So...I may have a few fixes for you!

You can leave the old wheels in place and just rivet in some new ones like the kind that are mounted on a flange. I have 4 of those on one of my lighting cases.

The case I use for tripods and light stands recently did the same thing as yours did- the started to mess up the floor and locked in place. I brought it in to a place that fixes golf bags, hockey equipmet bags and sports gear. They fixed it up nicely- see the picture. As you can see the wheels are on a little axel and held in place by the rubber cover and rivets. I have one of those rivet pliers and if I have problems, I go to the local shoe repair guy- he can rivet anything to leather or thick fabrics.

On one of my heavy cases, the casters quit so I replaced them with the type that attach with a bolt. I added a sheet of plywood to the inside of the case, under the padding, and bolted the casters on with nuts and lock washers.

Seems the folks who manufacture cases don't have replacement parts for their older models and some of them have gone out of business. Local repair folks can usually improvise something if you can't DIY. What I can't fix myself, I find a sports gear, leather goods or luggage repair shop

About 15 years ago, I picked up one of those collapsible dollies. I use it to drag heavy gear around dirty industrial sites- it rolls over anything. It has large wheels that can be easily pulled up stairs and you can put a house on the thing- well a doghouse- up to 300 lbs.

Keep on moving aroud- good luck! Be well!

You can easily remove rivets by just drilling them out, and then you just put in new ones (takes 5 minutes)!

Drilling the rivets out don't help a bit if you don't have replacement parts, I'M not drilling them out just to cobble something up.
I will just use a light weight dolly.
