I love doing this--just haven't figured out a few things. Sometimes the shadow lines just go straight and don't wrap around the body and secondly haven't figured out how to get the bright sun required on the same day I have a model available. Do you see what you think you see?

The first image is nice but confusing, The second is very nice and I can see what I think I see LOL
I have done these types of images, waiting for the Sun to be in the right place at the right time is a bitch.
What I did was hang a blind on a bar between two ladders then placed 4X8 sheet of black Foam Core on either side to control the spill, for light a used an Alien Bee B1600 in a double diffused 30X60 Softbox behind the blind, then adjusted the slats to get the look I wanted. I did find the plastic Blinds to be useless, the metal blinds were better but the old wooden Blinds were best. I does take a bit of room but can be done without high ceilings and in your home. Even better is if you have a window over a deck, placing the strobe on the outside is fantastic, I have never done this but have seen images where it was done The images were fantastic.
Thanks, I shall have to try some more--the artificial light just hasn't been to my liking yet but your step by step will help. Oh, and the first one was the one that I hoped would confuse the "what you see and what you don't."

Its not easy but can be done. I have used amber gels over the soft box to mimic soft sunlight.
Look up Roscoe products
I like them a lot. Simulating the effect like Manglesphoto suggested might be a fun challenge. I've been meaning to get a model on a piece of black velvet or some other fabric that won't reflect light very well and painting her with a laser during a long exposure and see what that yields.

Beautiful both shots. Stop second guessing yourself.
Beautiful, very creative set. Please, keep posting your experiments.
Nice work on these--I like the technique. I had to look at the first one several times to figure it out. Once done, it’s plain as day.
Very pleasant. The technique and the model. I think the 2nd photo would look better with the window sill not there, but I like them both just the same.
Interesting and creative.
Agree with others that I like #2 best.
Maybe it is just easier to figure out?
Keep those images coming!
