A simple composite. Does it look believable? The Egret was taken in full sun over water. I blended it in PS. I used the subtract blend at 100% opacity.

Seems like the legs would not look gold when the rest is featureless pure black. Is that a result of your blend mode?

I started to comment on your change in perspective, then realized what I'm mostly seeing is an optical illusion, lol. Time for my nap!

btw, I love the overall look, especially the rich colors of the sky.

Works for me. Might want to darken the legs some, but the perspectives work.

I have to agree. When I took a second look at it I realized the legs needed some work on them. I should have walked away and reset my eyes to take a fresh look at it.

Thanks Bob as I mentioned to Linda the legs need some work on them.

Great idea, as every one says the legs need to be darker and there are a lot of sensor spots in the picture, you can see them in the thumbnail but on the double download they are all over...

My opinion....
I think the Egret is a bit too big, not much just a bit. I also go along as previously noted, the legs needing some work, easy fix. Not sure where all the black spots came from but would remove them. Easy in Photoshop with the Spot Healing Brush.
Basic question "Does it look believable?" Yes, it will but with some leg treatment.

Thanks for you comments. I agree on both of your comments. I darkened the legs, and when I saw the spots I was thinking they were lens dust. I cleaned the lens when I got home. It was a windy day and the front of the lens was pretty dusty. But suspect it is also sensor spots.

I too thought it would be easy to blacken the legs. It should have been a simple fix. I tried yesterday and for whatever reason it would not change. So I closed it for the night and tried again today . Magically today it worked.
The spot healing brush is every photographer's friend.

Not sure what is happening. With the latest Mac OS and the Photoshop CC 20.0.4 I too have been having problems. Not full crashes but several times I've had to close and re-open to get thing to work properly again. Hope there will be a new update soon to whatever is causing these new problems.

Wow, a bunch of sharp-eyed guys on this forum. I got to learn to look closer. But, I like the edit a bunch.

Nicely done. The blend between the background and the bird is not something I do well yet--you hit it. It' a keeper, well, except for the legs of course lol

Ron, it is always good to post in here. Different people see different parts of the photo that the presenter may or may not be aware of. I usally take it as a positive if someone points out something that I may have missed. That of course excludes the comments from the trolls.
