Why are people "In Hiding"?
Ashamed of where they live?
Trust me if you have a cell phone, cable TV, Internet connection and use Google or Alexa or a myriad of Apple devices the whole world know where you are minute by minute and where you live within inches.
I write this as it is fun and interesting to see where members live around the world.
Believe me saying city and state or country and province and city is not going to expose you any more than you already are.
Notice the ads yo get on this site from searches you made?
It would just be interesting to see locations.

I agree it doesn’t make a lot of sense. Have a mortgage, buy insurance, bank account, credit card - your info is everywhere and probably on the “dark web”. Yet, on this very small site, comparison wise, they are concerned about what? The next one; Birthday - NA. Again, embarrassed about your age?

But you don't need to answer those questions if you don't want to.
I never divulge where I am at any time.
I will say after the fact I went someplace but not like many announce I am going to XXX for a month and give the date. Or that here I am at XXX and won't be home for another 3 weeks.
It is just using common sense and thought.
PS, my house is all over the internet and I am associated with it.

Travel is different from what city or state in which you reside.
I would never post that I am going to be away from my home on a vacation or business trip, but posting here your city or state only makes this site more interesting to us all, and it only adds to the camaraderie of the those in the photo world.
For what it is worth I am proud of having lived in Arizona these past 72 years. If you have not visited Arizona in the Spring, Fall or Winter, you have missed some of God’s beautiful scenery. If you have visited in the summer. . . well, then you are just nuts! 😃

I don't think a lot of them are consciously hiding. Maybe they're just too lazy to fully fill out their profiles.
