I am for a six day trip to Iceland. I am shooting with a Nikon 850 . I have a large assortment of lenses, but would like to travel light. Any recommendations for what lenses to bring?

Have not been there yet but had a "photographer" friend who went recently, plus had a presentation last month in an adult continuing education class I host, and saw nothing that would indicate you need any long, heavy lenses. I would think a fast, wideish len (lots of gray weather) and maybe something with up to 150ish reach would do you.

That is a tough one. There are lots of open, sweeping landscapes for which a 16-35 would be good--like at Gulfoss. But there are also mountains at a distance, or geysirs and waterfalls, for which a 70-200 would be awesome. Perhaps throw in a 50mm prime to cover the middle? You will be doing mostly landscape photography on a treeless island with lots of interesting landscape features so I would be prepared to cover at least the 18mm to 135mm range. Of course a lot depends on your style of landscape photography.

You could not go wrong with:

24-70 for wide angle
70-200 for landscape details. (I shoot more and more at 110 Mil on a 70-200 for panoramas.)
20 or 24 mm f/1.something for nighttime/aurora shots.

And, bring a sturdy tripod and watch out for vicious winds.

It never gets dark in summer--so no aurora nor night shots. Nothing a f/2.8 or even f/4 could not handle.

Three years ago, I brought a bag with D800E, D500, 14-24, 24-70, 70-200 for a week driving around the nation. I used the D800E with 14-24, 24-70 a lot. I was hopeful to use D500 with 70-200 to take pictures of the puffins but they didn’t show up. The bag was not light but I rented a car so the weight was not an issue.

Iceland is extremely scenic, you can take great pictures at every turn. I recommend 14-24 and 24-70 or equivalent. Do not forget ND filters if you like waterfalls.

You were very lucky. I see many photos in your album with bright sunny days. Some friends and I were in Iceland for 2 weeks in October 2018. If you add up all the hours of sunny sky that we had, it wouldn't fill up a day. Hardly any green. So much gray and brownish-yellow. But we did get to see the Northern Lights.

I just don't understand questions like this. You have one of the best cameras I'm sure the lenses you have reflected the cost of the camera and your experience is not that of a novice.
Iceland or Mark Tree, Arkansas is just another place to take pictures. Your camera and your research into your trip should provide you with your answers.
Have a nice trip. I'm sure you will have a good time.
For me, I'm looking hard at the Antarctica trip run by this guy Muench. Still trying how to let my wife know I will be gone for a couple of weeks.

I would love to visit Iceland but that is out of my financial range, especially now that I am retired. As has already been mentioned take something you can comfortably carry around. A 20 pound bag can get awfully heavy in just a short time.

Iceland CAN be very expensive for travelers, but it doesn’t have to be. Aside from fuel, where there aren’t any options, you can find inexpensive guest houses with breakfast buffet for lodging and gas stations have the great hot dogs. Look for lodging in the area just west of Vik for a central base.

A four day visit in the southern area will give you a good exposure to the types of features Iceland has to offer. Golden Circle trip has waterfalls, geothermal and the rift area. A little further east and you have Sellfoss and Seljalandfoss.

16-35mm, 24-120mm and 200-500mm covers it all in one easily carried back pack.
Perhaps a screw on diopter lens for close-ups.
