LR CC Update

I updated Adobe CC tonight. Then I had this (see below). The LR classic icon was corrupted. For the PC users, that ? over an Icon is never a good thing. It means the OS cannot find the executable.

But there was a simple fix. A trip to the Applications directory and drag the LR executable back to the dock and then delete the ? icon. All fixed.

It's actually not unusual to have to change the dock application and is always good practice to do so.

Thank you for that.

That's because Adobe changed the name from Lightroom Classic CC to Lightroom Classic (CC was dropped from all the Adobe apps) and in the process created a new folder. Your old icon pointed to Lightroom Classic CC.

That is a common occurrence when software is upgraded to a new version. If the old app is left behind, you may get TWO app icons in the dock.

You found the correct solution.

This was address on FB. The name has changed from LR Classic CC to just plain LR Classic. So you will have to drop a new short cut to your desktop. Then Presto! it's Magic.

Edit: Just saw a prior correct response. Another 'day late and dollar short' scenario.

Yes! That's exactly what happened! I forgot about that. Thanks.

Ha ha yes that happens.

FB = Facebook? I am Facebook "challenged". I consider Facebook a necessary evil as some friends only use Facebook, they don't use email. But I will avoid Facebook whenever possible. That's just me.

It's about time. After the naming fiasco that they perpetrated on their customers when they introduced the CC version they needed to fix it. It took them how many years to figure out the right names?

I had the same problem and used the same fix. Unfortunately I lost my plug-in for Canon Print Studio Pro. No matter, I still have it in Ps until I can figure out how to get it back into Lr.

Go to the older Lightroom Classic CC folder. It will be almost empty. Open the Modules folder. Copy the Canon plugin.

Open the Lightroom Classic folder. Paste plugin into Modules folder.

Some of us use facebook a lot. I check mine rigorously at least once every other month.
